As a statistician, Isaac Dompreh knows a thing or two about numbers. When he man plays the Virginia Lottery’s Cash 5 with EZ Match game, he likes to select numbers that correspond with significant birthdays.
That strategy worked in the April 27 drawing, when Dompreh matched all five winning numbers to win a $205,000 jackpot.
He bought his winning ticket at Giant Food, located at 7137 Columbia Pike in Annandale. He used Easy Pick and allowed the computer to randomly select the numbers on his ticket. Those winning numbers were 2-6-9-31-32.
Dompreh said he hopes to use his winnings to pay off his student loans.
Cash 5 with EZ Match features a rolling jackpot starting at a minimum of $200,000. The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 1,221,759.
